FORMAT
Rather than a strict class format, the session is salon-style allowing for cross-talk. Each evening will begin with a short lesson (taught by me – the most “class-like” part of the evening) and then we’ll have time for the group to dissect the lesson and also cover assignments (AKA your career homework). This is the most innovative part of the class – we will devise individual, actor-specific assignments week-to-week so that each of us stays on task for our careers. Therefore, we are each held accountable by the rest of the group.
TOPICS/CURRICULUM
Topics will cover the business of being an actor: resumes, headshots, mailings, cover letters, postcards, workshops, agent meetings, getting auditions, breakdowns, how to get in the door, get an agent, change agents, make money, and, most importantly, situation-specific STRATEGY for your career. We will NOT cover acting technique. We will focus on how to get the work.
